Self-employed electrician

Lume Traveler is looking for a freelance electrical engineer to bring our Travelers to life technically. In this role, you will install and test wiring and system components and work with Victron Energy systems, both in the workshop and with customers and dealers.

About Lume

At Lume Traveler, we build more than caravans. In Holten, with a small team, we create high-quality Lumes that combine luxury, design, smart technology, and craftsmanship. As an Electrical Engineer on a freelance basis, you will be involved in the electrical systems of our Travelers. You will install and test wiring and system components, and you will also provide support with service and maintenance for customers and dealers.

Lume Traveler is the innovative caravan manufacturer from Holten, where luxury, design and pure freedom come together. We design and build every model from A to Z in the Netherlands — with an eye for detail, using the finest materials (aluminium enclosures, teak wood, wool felt, high-quality finishes) and with suppliers who prioritize craftsmanship and quality.
Our caravans — the Adventure, Expedition and Nordic — offer travelers an unforgettable experience: sleeping under the stars, a chef-style outdoor kitchen, the comfort of a hotel suite and the freedom of untouched nature.

What are you bringing?

A completed degree in mechatronics or electrical engineering at level 3 or 4. This is not mandatory if you have relevant experience.
Work experience preferably in a production environment, for example in the automotive or trailer and caravan industry.
Experience with Victron Energy is a must. You don’t need to be an expert, because we offer internal training to get you to the level we want.
Able to work independently and accurately, with a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
Flexibility to switch between production work in the workshop and service or interventions at customers' premises.
A team player with good communication skills who wants to contribute to building a growing company with international ambitions.

What do we have to offer you?

A market-compliant salary according to the CAO Carrosseriebedrijf (Metal & Engineering), commensurate with your experience and responsibilities.
Internal training & guidance to help you gain further knowledge of our systems, special electrical engineering applications and service processes.
Working in a small, enthusiastic team in a beautiful craft business where your work is truly visible.
A workplace where quality, craftsmanship and innovation are at the forefront — you become part of a brand that stands out in both design and performance.
Opportunity to travel for service/interventions, so alternating work between the workshop and ‘on the road’.
Beautiful direct colleagues, inspiring challenges and the pride of building something special.
